TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
FC Dallas added to its long list of Homegrown Players again on Thursday, signing 18-year-old center back Chris Richards to a Homegrown contract.
A native of Hoover, Alabama who joined FCD’s academy last year, Richards will remain with Dallas’ Under-19 squad and will be eligible to be added to the first-team roster upon completion of his Homegrown eligibility requirements.
Richards is the 22nd academy product FCD have signed to a Homegrown deal, the 24th player overall to rise from Dallas’ academy to their first team and their fourth HGP signing this year. He’s also a member of the US U-19 national team pool.
Richards previously committed to join the University of North Carolina this fall, but will now move straight into FCD’s professional pipeline instead. FCD’s U-19s have an 10-4-3 record in matches that Richards starts.
