For Atlanta United and Cameroon defender Stephane Mbia, it appears mutual interest has expanded to mutual acquaintance.
After reports earlier in the week indicated potential interest in the 31-year-old midfielder, Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Doug Roberson revealed Mbia attended Saturday's 5-0 victory against LAFC and was chatting with executives Carlos Bocanegra and Paul McDonough.
Mbia could potentially serve as a defensive midfielder for Atlanta, who have sought to bolster their spine following Carlos Carmona's transfer to Colo Colo in the offseason.
