Pinnacle – a brand new facility located a mile from Children’s Mercy Park and Wyandotte Sporting Fields in Kansas City, Kansas – officially opened Tuesday when Sporting Kansas City trained at the $75-million venue for the first time.
A day earlier, the media were allowed a tour. Let's just say the reviews were good:
Formerly known as the National Training and Coaching Development Center, Pinnacle is a collaboration between Sporting, the US Soccer Federation and local healthcare provider Children's Mercy, which also holds the naming rights to Sporting's stadium, Children's Mercy Park.

Among Pinnacle’s numerous amenities are five full-size soccer fields, a sports performance lab, an expansive sports performance gymnasium and multiple spaces uniquely specialized for coaching education, including a two-story coaching pavilion.
