TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Signing
The LA Galaxy continued their offseason roster rebuild with the signing of fullback Rolf Feltscher on Tuesday, adding a dose of international experience to their backline.
Feltscher, 27, arrives via a free transfer from Cardiff City of the English Championship (second division). The Swiss-born Venezuelan international has also played in Germany, Italy and Spain, with nearly 200 appearances overall. He’ll be added to LA’s roster pending receipt of his P-1 Visa and international transfer certificate.
“Rolf is a talented outside back who has had success playing in top leagues in Europe and for the Venezuelan national team,” said Galaxy head coach Sigi Schmid in a club release. “We think highly of his soccer pedigree, his versatility and the skills he brings to our team.”
Feltscher has made 19 appearances for Venezuela since making his debut in 2011 at the age of 21, including Copa América Centenario action in the United States last year, and most recently appeared in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying action over the summer.
