TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS:Signing
FC Dallas signed goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer on Monday, the club announced.
Maurer, 29, comes to FCD after spending the last five seasons with the NASL’s New York Cosmos. He became the club’s full-time starter in 2014, earning NASL Best XI honors that season before helping New York to the NASL title in 2015 and 2016. He started 25 games for the Cosmos in 2017, finishing the season with a 9-5-11 record and a 1.48 goals-against average.
Maurer actually spent time in 2017 with FC Dallas, joining the club on a week-long loan in July ahead of their match at Montreal on July 22. He backed up Chris Seitz in the match while starter Jesse Gonzalez was on international duty with the US men’s national team.
He and Gonzalez are the only two goalkeepers on the Dallas roster following Seitz’s decision to sign with Houston as a free agent.
