Getting off on the right foot is what every team will be hoping to do in their respective 2017 home openers, which were unveiled on Wednesday.
But over the years it's become pretty evident that some clubs are better at it than others.
Take Sporting Kansas City, who in 21 all-time home openers have gone 13-2-6 for a 61.9 win percentage, tied for third best in MLS history. However, Sporting KC's 2.14 average points per game are the most for any MLS team and they will look to continue their run on March 11 at Children's Mercy Park against Supporters' Shield winners FC Dallas.
The team with the worst all-time record in home openers for clubs with a minimum of three such matches is the San Jose Earthquakes. But since christening Avaya Stadium in 2015, they've won both of their home openers, a streak they'll be looking to extend on March 4 against the Montreal Impact.
