Jordan Morris would love to cap the wild ride that has been his rookie season with an MLS Cup title.
But if the Seattle Sounders do prevail in Saturday night's title match against Toronto FC at BMO Field (8 pm ET; FOX, UniMás; TSN and RDS in Canada), there's one thing Morris won't be doing to celebrate – namely, moving out of the family home and getting his own place.
Make fun of him all you like: The 2016 MLS Rookie of the Year told Men in Blazers that he's staying put as long as he can.
"I'm going to try and stay home for as long as I can," Morris said. "I don't know when it's going to happen. My girlfriend still goes to Stanford, so if she moves up next year she said we have to move out. She's not living there. So we'll see how it goes.
"For me, if I could, I would try and stay home as long as I can, because I love it. I know people make fun of me about it. It's convenient, and I love being around family."
Morris is on the verge of his second straight title match in as many years, after leading Stanford to the College Cup last year. He's excited about the chance to follow one championship with another – but not too excited, just yet.
"There's a lot of thinking and a lot of excitement, so you just have to weather that and wait 'til game day to get really excited," he said. "Because if you think about it too much, get over-excited now, it's not going to be helpful."
