The LA Galaxy are through to the Western Conference Semifinals for the seventh time in the last eight years, thanks to their 3-1 victory against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday night.
The victory by the West's No. 3 seed locks in a matchup against the No. 2 Colorado Rapids. The two teams played some hard-fought battles during the regular season, with only three goals scored between the two sides in three games.
The two MLS originals have not met in the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs since 2005, when the Galaxy eliminated the Rapids in the Western Conference Finals, a game before raising their second MLS Cup.
