A report in the Orlando Sentinel on Monday afternoon confirms Kreis is on Orlando City's shortlist of head coaching candidates, and that Kreis "is in discussions" with the club to take the job.

A little more than eight months after parting ways with New York City FC, Jason Kreis may be close to resurfacing in Orlando.
According to FourFourTwo's Paul Tenorio, Kreis is reportedly in advanced talks to become the next Orlando City SC head coach. Previous manager, Adrian Heath, was let go by the club on July 6.
Tenorio reports that Kreis is also in consideration for a few other positions in the league. He is a potential candidate to replace Sigi Schmid in Seattle should the struggling Sounders choose to make a change, and also perhaps to manage expansion side Atlanta United FC, which will enter MLS in 2017.
Kreis went 10-17-7 with NYCFC in 2015 after compiling an 111-87-69 record in all competitions in seven seasons with Real Salt Lake, where he made two MLS Cup appearances, lifting the trophy in 2009. Most recently, he spent time as a member of Jurgen Klinsmann's United States' national team staff.
Orlando City, which missed out on the playoffs last year during the club's expansion season, is currently in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with 22 points, one point outside playoff position.
