The Copa America Centenario group stage is in the books. And when it's all said and done, we witnessed 24 matches and 69 goals (that's 2.88 goals a game).
Before we head into the Copa America knockout rounds, here's a look back at my Top 10 goals of the tournament so far:
#10 - Paolo Guerrero (Peru)
One of the big reasons Peru have shocked the field and find themselves in the quarterfinals is their captain and forward. This goal proved the winner in the opener vs. Haiti:
#9 - Salomon Rondon (Venezuela)
The West Brom man gets his name on the scoresheet, but the player that really deserves all the credit for this one is his teammate -- the magnificent Alejandro "El Lobito" Guerra:
#8 - Alexis Sanchez (Chile)
It took until the third group stage game for us to see a flash of the world-class brilliance expected from Chile's superstar. But it was well worth the wait:
#7 - Cristian Zapata (Colombia)
A great finish and an emotional one, as Zapata also happened to be wearing the No. 2 jersey that once belonged to Andres Escobar, the center back who was assassinated for an own goal in a World Cup loss to the USA back in 1994.
#6 - Johan Venegas (Costa Rica)
Copa America Centenario was a coming-out party for the Montreal Impact player. With skills like these, it's just a matter of time before he establishes himself as an MLS star.
#5 - Victor Ayala (Paraguay)
This was the Paraguayan midfielder's way of telling his now-former coach Ramon Diaz: "You should've started me all along":
#4 - Jesus Manuel "Tecatito" Corona (Mexico)
When broadcasters are comparing one of your goals to Messi, you know it was a good one. Corona is one of the most exciting Mexican players in the squad today:
#3 - Jhasmani Campos (Bolivia)
Warning: Not sure you'll get to the top two goals. You'll be mesmerized by the bend on this one and watch it over and over again:
#2 - Christian Cueva (Peru)
That spinning nutmeg move is why Brazilian powers Sao Paulo splashed out the cash to lure the Peru No. 10 away from Mexico:
#1 - Jose Manuel Velasquez (Venezuela)
Who? Yep, with all the attacking talent on display at this Copa America, the best goal of the tournament belongs to a center back. Enjoy.
