LAFC’s mission “to unite the world’s city through the world’s game” got an assist from LA Metro Rail a couple of weeks ago, when the Metro Expo Line extension officially opened.
The extended Expo line runs from Santa Monica on the coast to 7th Street/Metro Center in downtown LA and includes a stop at Expo Park, home of LAFC’s future stadium.
LAFC supporters and staffers marked the occasion by riding from downtown Santa Monica to the Expo Park/USC station. From there, it’s just a short work to the Sports Arena site, where the LAFC stadium is scheduled to open in time for their inaugural MLS season in 2018.
The extended line will give LAFC fans who live west of the stadium a convenient option to get to games, with supporters able to get from the shore to the stadium in about 35 minutes.
