Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs says he wants to be an NFL kicker

Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs is interested in coming to the States.

To play in the NFL.

The 29-year-old Austrian international is currently focused on helping the first-place Foxes capture an unlikely Premier League title, but he’s apparently got a post-soccer dream of becoming an NFL kicker.

“I have this ambition to be an NFL kicker,” he told Sky Sports. “If NFL managers want a footballer in their team, I know I can kick a 60-yard field goal. Let’s see, if you don’t dream you won’t achieve anything.”

Fuchs, whose wife and two children live in New York City, got some experience with NFL football this January, when Leicester took part in an American football training session after receiving Carolina Panthers jerseys.

If he does indeed realize his dream, Fuchs wouldn’t be the first former pro soccer player to become an NFL kicker. Current San Diego Chargers kicker Josh Lambo (featured in the video above) was a goalkeeper for FC Dallas from 2008-2011, while former Tampa Bay Mutiny, San Jose Earthquakes, D.C. United and Columbus Crew forward Devin Barclay kicked for Ohio State University from 2007-2010.
