Tampa Bay is getting ready to join in on the MLS preseason action.
The NASL's Tampa Bay Rowdies announced on Wednesday a new preseason tournament, called the Rowdies Suncoast Invitational, that will feature a slate of MLS teams next month.
Participating in the series with the Rowdies are the Philadelphia Union, New York City FC, D.C. United, Montreal Impact, New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC. It will run from Feb. 17 to Feb. 27 at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida and the Joe DiMaggio Sports Complex in Clearwater.
“We’re thrilled to welcome these MLS teams to St. Petersburg,” said Rowdies principal owner Bill Edwards in a statement. “This is a fantastic opportunity to bring some of the world’s best soccer talent home to our fans."
Tickets to all matches will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, January 29.
