Josh Yaro leads the way as Georgetown trio shine in Combine performance tests

The results of performance testing at the 2016 adidas MLS Combine are in.

It may come as no surprise that Georgetown's Josh Yaro – a potential No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2016 MLS Superdraft – led the way. The Ghanaian-born defender finished second in the speed test, with a 3.93-second 30-meter dash, and came in No. 3 in the power test with a 31.5-inch vertical leap.

Nearly as impressive was one of Yaro's Georgetown teammates, defender Keegan Rosenberry. Though he finished 20th in the 30-meter dash (4.13 seconds), he placed No. 4 in the agility test with a 4.11-second time in the 5-10-5 shuttle, and second in the vertical leap with a height of 32 inches.

Forward Hadji Barry, from the West African nation of Guinea by way of the University of Central Florida, was top performer in the speed test, with a time of 3.88 seconds in the 30-meter dash. He also showed well in the power test with a vertical leap of 30.5 inches earning him a tie for 7th in that category, though he placed in the bottom half of the agility test with a time of 4.38 seconds in the 5-10-5 shuttle.

Clemson midfielder Paul Clowes took top spot in the agility test with a 5-10-5 shuttle time of 4.04 seconds. Georgetown defender Josh Turnley edged college teammates Yaro and Rosenberry to take the power test with a vertical leap of 33.5 inches, and also finished tied for 10th in the agility test (4.20 seconds) and tied for 23rd in the speed test (4.16 seconds).

Other notable finishers included Stanford defender and recent US national team call-up Brandon Vincent, who finished in the top 20 in all categories, as did Rosenberry, Rutgers midfielder Mitchell Taintor, North Florida forward Alex Morrell and Charlotte forward Kyle Parker.

A total of 73 players were invited to the Combine, though five players did not participate in the 30-meter dash, six in the 5-10-5 shuttle and four in the vertical leap.
