NEW YORK RED BULLS vs. MONTREAL IMPACT
RED BULL ARENA, Harrison, N.J.
October 7, 2015 (WEEK 32, MLS Game #318)
7:30 p.m. ET (MLS LIVE)

A crucial match in the Eastern Conference playoff chase is ahead when the New York Red Bulls host the Montreal Impact on Wednesday evening at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls have secured their place in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs but are now chasing the Supporters’ Shield, tied for the top spot in the overall MLS standings after their 2-1 win over the Columbus Crew SC last weekend. The Impact sit right above the red line, in sixth place by a single point, after seeing their club-record six-game unbeaten streak put to an end last weekend in a 2-1 loss at Orlando City.

  • Bradley Wright-Phillips scored his 15th goal of the season – now in a tie for sixth in the MLS Golden Boot standings – as the Red Bulls maintained their lead atop the Eastern Conference and pulled into a tie in the Supporters’ Shield standings with a 2-1 win against the Columbus Crew SC on Saturday.
  • The Impact had their three-game winning streak snapped, dropping a 2-1 decision at Orlando City on Saturday evening, which left the teams just a single point apart at the red line and sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. The Impact’s Dominic Oduro and the Red Bulls’ Lloyd Sam scored on either side of halftime as the teams reached a 1-1 draw Aug. 5 at Stade Saputo.
  • The Red Bulls have a five-game MLS undefeated streak alive vs. the Impact, with three wins in that time. The last Montreal win in the series was a 1-0 win at Stade Saputo in the first meeting in 2013. The Impact got the best of the Red Bulls in the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League, winning Group 3 after going 1-0-1 against New York.
  • The Red Bulls have won all four league meetings lifetime at Red Bull Arena, though the teams reached a 1-1 draw in CONCACAF Champions League group play last year in Harrison. The Red Bulls have come away with points on three of their four trips to Montreal all-time.
