Erick “Cubo” Torres, the Houston Dynamo striker who is on loan with Chivas Guadalajara, has been accused of sexual assault, according to media reports in Mexico.

Mexican outlet Cancha published – and ESPN Deportes subsequently confirmed – documents revealing an official investigation of an incident on April 22 in the Guadalajara suburb of Zapopan.

Torres denied the allegations at Chivas’ training session at Estadio Omnilife on Saturday, and pledged his full cooperation with the investigation.

“I want to clarify a little about the subject that came out [in the media] this morning,” Torres said. “I want to make clear that I'm the first person interested in clearing this up as soon as possible. I'm available to work with the authorities to help and to clarify what happened. I never would do anything that wasn't with the mutual consent of the other person.”

Chivas visit crosstown rivals Atlas in the second and decisive leg of their liguilla (Liga MX playoffs) series at Estadio Jalisco on Sunday after a 0-0 draw at Estadio Omnilife in the first leg.

Torres, 22, rose through the Chivas youth system before joining Chivas USA on loan in 2013. He proved a major success in MLS, scoring 22 goals in 44 matches in 2013 and 2014, earning MLS All-Star honors last year.

He signed a Designated Player contract with the Dynamo in December and was immediately loaned out to his former club. He is scheduled to join Houston when the international transfer window opens in July.
