LA Galaxy sign US youth international midfielder Sebastian Lletget from West Ham United

The LA Galaxy have signed US midfielder Sebastian Lletget, the club announced Friday. Lletget, 22, was born in California and joins the club from West Ham United in England’s Barclays Premier League.


Per the league’s Discovery Process conflict resolution mechanism, the Galaxy acquired the right to sign Lletget from the New England Revolution in exchange for $50,000 in Allocation Money. Lletget will join the Galaxy’s roster upon receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).


“Sebastian is a young, talented attacking player who we think can find success in our team,” said LA Galaxy Head Coach and General Manager Bruce Arena in a statement. “We’re happy to have him return to his home state to join the Galaxy and we look forward to his contributions going forward.”



Lletget, a native of San Francisco, California, featured for Sporting Santa Clara in Northern California as a youth player before joining West Ham United’s youth system in London in 2009. He made his first team professional debut for the English Premier League side in 2014 when he played all 90 minutes in a FA Cup match against Nottingham Forest.

Internationally, Lletget has made multiple appearances for US men’s mational team youth sides, including call ups to the USMNT U-17s, U-20s and U-23s.
