Back in January, Cristiano Ronaldo's agent indicated that the Real Madrid star could be heading to MLS when his contract with the Spanish giants expires in the summer of 2018.
Now we have an idea which MLS team might have the best chance at landing him.
According to a Wednesday report by SI.com's Grant Wahl, Ronaldo's "preferred destination" in 2018 is Los Angeles. The news comes a little over a month after Wahl reported that Ronaldo was interested in three MLS cities: Miami, New York and Los Angeles.
By 2018, the defending MLS Cup champions LA Galaxy will be joined in Los Angeles by a new MLS expansion club currently known as "LAFC."
The LA Galaxy have signed several stars over the years with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard soon to join the likes of David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan. Gerrard will join the club this summer.
LAFC, meanwhile, recently hosted a roundtable with a select group of supporters and club officials made it clear that their current priority is to identify a location for the club's new stadium.
