Nick Rimando once again claimed the Save of the Week honors on Friday, and his competition never really came close to putting up a fight.
Rimando earned his fifth Save of the Week award during the 2013 season for his late stop on Jeremy Brockie in Real Salt Lake's 1-0 victory over Toronto FC this past Saturday. The quick reaction-save from Rimando that preserved the lead had just under 50 percent of the Week 18 votes, well ahead of runner-up Andy Gruenebaum (about 19 percent).
The award puts Rimando just one shy of Portland Timbers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts, who has the most this season with six, and also comes in the same week that RSL teammate Yordany Alvarez won the Goal of the Week.
