Yordany Alvarez was named the winner of the AT&T Goal of the Week award on Friday for his sublime strike in Real Salt Lake's 1-0 triumph over Toronto FC, ending a three-week reign by the Portland Timbers.
Alvarez claimed the Week 18 honors with his rocket of a shot late in the first half of RSL's visit to BMO Field this past Saturday, earning a little more than 35 percent of the vote. The Cuban midfielder becomes the fourth Real Salt Lake player to take home the award this season, joining Javier Morales, Luis Gil and Robbie Findley.
Montreal Impact defender Hassoun Camara finished in second with nearly 26 percent of all votes.
