Portland’s Rodney Wallace pulled out a come-from-behind effort to win the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for Week 13, riding a surge of text votes to top New York’s Thierry Henry in the fan poll.
Wallace secured just over 31 percent of the vote for his left-footed blast inside the box that helped lift the Timbers past host D.C. United 2-0 last Saturday at RFK Stadium. The goal was the fourth of the season and second in the past three games for Wallace, who has been a key catalyst of Portland’s franchise-record 11-game unbeaten streak.
Henry finished in second with 26 percent of the vote for his sixth goal of the season, a half-volley in the 31st minute of the Red Bulls’ 2-2 draw against Columbus last Sunday.
