The game-winner by Javier Morales against Chivas USA last Saturday was memorable: the Real Salt Lake playmaker doesn't usually score with his head.
"[It was] my third one in my career. I don't have too many," the Argentine said following the match.
And now it's doubly memorable because the strike by Morales also was also deemed worthy by fans of the AT&T Goal of the Week honor for Week 8.
Trailing Philadelphia's Jack McInerney on Thursday by one percentage point, Morales boosters helped him storm to the top of the polls in the final 24 hours.
Fans likely appreciated the sweeping, four-pass sequence that led to the goal, which started with a Morales pass from inside RSL's half. He finished off the play by nodding home a cross from Alvaro Saborio.
Final Votes - Week 8 (online poll and text vote):
- Javier Morales (RSL) 38.8%
- Jack McInerney (PHI) 30.3%
- Aurelien Collin (SKC) 13.3%
- Landon Donovan (LA) 8.8%
- Jeremy Hall (TOR) 8.8%
