Scoring against the Seattle Sounders is bound to be a memorable moment for any member of the Portland Timbers, but Rodney Wallace's picture-perfect equalizer might have been as unforgettable as they come.
Wallace's last-minute header not only rescued the Timbers at CenturyLink Field, giving Caleb Porter's team a 1-1 draw against their archrivals, but it was also a thing of beauty. The Costa Rican made a well-timed run into the penalty area before perfectly placing the ball into the top corner to pull Portland level in a game they looked set to lose. That was plenty in the eyes of voters, as Wallace's sweet finish claimed the Goal of the Week honors for Week 3.
Wallace won the award with 38 percent of the votes. Marco Di Vaio's game-winning strike in the Montreal Impact's 2-1 victory over Toronto FC finished as the runner-up with 27 percent.
