It looks like Robert Earnshaw is adjusting to MLS quickly and seamlessly.
Playing in just his second game since joining Toronto FC on Feb. 28, Earnshaw scored a brace to help give the Canadian club a surprising 2-1 defeat over Sporting Kansas City. The Welsh forward's performance did not only give TFC their first win since July 2012 but also earned him the MLS Player of the Week honors for Week 2 of the 2013 season. Earnshaw wasted little time in opening his MLS goalscoring account on Saturday, taking advantage of a poor pass from Matt Besler before racing in on goal and slotting a shot past Jimmy Nielsen in the third minute. The 31-year-old then doubled TFC's lead and sent the home crowd at the Rogers Centre into a frenzy when he converted on a penalty kick in the 21st.
The former Cardiff City striker is surely enjoying his first few weeks in Toronto FC. Prior to this weekend, Earnshaw had scored just five goals at the club level since 2011 but he appears set to surpass that total by a bit in 2013.
