BC Place opened in grand style last Sunday with a Cascadia Cup matchup between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Portland Timbers. And on the big stage, big man Kenny Cooper came up huge.
Cooper's curled blast past diving 'Caps 'keeper Joe Cannon — voted AT&T Goal of the Week for Week for Week 29 — proved the game-winner as the Timbers took a 1-0 victory on their rivals' turf.
The tall Texan's goal earned 32 percent of the vote, beating out Eddie Gaven's diving header against D.C. United (25 percent) and Thierry Henry's spinning strike against Toronto FC (23 percent).
