What does a gorgeous one-time volley and a rare assist from a goalkeeper get you? A big win in Toronto and the AT&T Goal of the Week.
TFC striker Javier Martina’s impressive blast from just outside the penalty box in last Saturday’s 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers earned roughly 34 percent of the vote to take the top honor. It also gave Martina a brace for the match and sealed TFC’s first win of the season.

The goal also gave goalkeeper Stefan Frei a rare assist, thanks his well-placed clearance after snuffing out of a Timbers corner kick. Martina took the ball on a hop and promptly snapped a right-footed shot past Timbers goalkeeper Jake Gleeson.
Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales finished second in the voting (30 percent) for his right-footed blast in a 4-1 RSL win over the LA Galaxy.
