NEW YORK — Red Bulls winger Dane Richards has been enjoying a resurgence of form lately, and this week he was justly rewarded with the AT&T Goal of the Week honor for Week 22.
In a 2-0 defeat of San Jose last Saturday, Richards collected a floating header from Joel Lindpere before bursting past two Earthquakes defenders. He then dragged the ball around 'keeper Jon Busch before slotting home the game's opening goal. It was his first goal of the 2010 season and his ninth of his career.

The 26-year-old Jamaican also served an assist to Henry later in the game to double the score. This was Richards' first career Goal of the Week honor and the third for New York this season.
Richards' strike garnered 47.8 percent of the votes on a fan poll conducted by MLSsoccer.com. He narrowly edged out Seattle's Fredy Montero for the award. Montero, who tallied two goals in a 2-1 win over Chicago, earned 46.7 percent of the votes.
Philadelphia's Jack McInerney tallied 4.78 percent, while Richards' teammate Thierry Henry and Chivas USA's Justin Braun barely registered on the poll.
