Pause blast wins AT&T Goal of the Week

Logan Pause's goal gave Chicago something to smile about in a 4-1 loss at Toronto.

Chicago Fire holding midfielder Logan Pause is not known for attacking prowess. But his 30-yard rocket last weekend against Toronto FC proved defenses shouldn’t back off him too much.

The gorgeous shot was voted AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 7 in the tightest race for the honor so far this season. Pause’s strike earned 31% of the votes, narrowly beating out San Jose Earthquakes striker Chris Wondolowski’s tap-in finish at the end of a sweeping attacking move from the resurgent Quakes. Wondolowski’s goal garnered 29% of the votes.

Houston Dynamo midfielder Brad Davis’ clever sliding chip finished third with 25% of the votes, followed by Zak Boggs’ clever shot into the side-netting (10%) and Adrian Serioux’s header (5%).
