Kenny Mansally came off the bench again and only played 22 minutes on Saturday night at RFK Stadium. However, he did enough in those 22 minutes to earn his first-ever Player of the Week honors for Week 2 as voted by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR).

It was specifically a three-minute span that got Mansally the plaudits from soccer reporters. His goals in the 80th and 82nd minutes earned the Revolution a 2-0 road victory.
He hammered home a deflected cross into the box to open the scoring. The second goal was the stunner as he curled a left-footed shot into the far corner to put the game away.
“I was sitting on the bench and I was saying nobody is testing the goalkeeper, we can get more shots on goal," Mansally told the Boston Globe. “So when I came in I tried from far away and the next one I got a goal. In practice I’ve been scoring like two or three, or four goals. I wanted to get a hat trick but I couldn’t. So, maybe next time, next home game."
The 21-year-old Gambian international, who came on as a forward substitute in the club’s first two matches, is in his third full season with the Revs. He had just four career league goals entering the 2010 season before his brace on Saturday.
“He’s got quality but it’s all about consistency,” Steve Nicol told the Boston Globe. “Put it this way, if he does that every week he’ll be playing every week. I think we may think about starting him — that may cross our mind.”
