Toronto FC striker Danny Dichio trained with the team on Tuesday but isn't expected to be fit for Saturday's game at Colorado Rapids. Dichio has been out since early July with concussion. "He's joined in this morning with some of the work, but we don't know if he will be o.k. tomorrow," said coach John Carver. "We just don't know how he is going to respond, so it's a difficult situation. I've got to be a realist, and I can't see Danny playing this weekend because he's not even headed a ball yet."
Chad Barrett did a full recovery session on Tuesday after coming off with cramp during the second half of the defeat to FC Dallas. "Chad lasted just under 70 minutes, and he's done more recovery work today on the bikes. We didn't want him to join in the football session because we want to make sure he recovers so that he's ready to go on Thursday. He'll be fine for Saturday."
Carver is still looking to strengthen the squad in attack and defence. "I know the clock is ticking and the window shuts soon. "We're looking for another striker, and there are a lot of defenders unavailable now. Tebily has gone, Dunivant is injured, Wynne is away and now Velez is going to be suspended, so we need to strengthen in defence," he said.
Toronto born striker Dave Simpson trained with Toronto FC on Tuesday. The Canadian international is without a club after his contract ended at Sparta Prague (Czech Republic) "He's out of contract and back home so he is training with us for a few days," said Carver. Simpson is 25 years old.
