The Union acquired the NASL standout in January 2016, and hope to see him continue his progression up the American soccer ladder and turn into a solid contributor during the 2016 season.
OUTSIDE MLS: Restrepo, 27, was born in San Diego, Calif., but holds dual-national citizenship with Colombia. He played there professionally from 2006-11 before joining the Fort Lauderdale Strikers on July 11, 2011. In 2012, Restrepo led NASL with eight assists and was named to the league’s Best XI. He was traded to San Antonio Scorpions on Jan. 8, 2014, where he went on to have three goals and four assists, again being named to the NASL Best XI for the second year in a row. He played for New York Cosmos in 2015. He played in 29 games, made 24 starts and scored three goals.
