- 2012: Made a career-high nine appearances with four starts in regular-sea- son play with one goal and one assist. Scored first MLS goal of the season in 6-2 win at CHV (8/25). Recorded first-career MLS assist vs. SJ (9/22) and made first-career MLS start at SJ (8/11). Scored eight goals across all competitions, ranking third on the team. Scored a goal in all four 2012-13 CCL games, ranking second in the tournament.
- 2011: Scored two goals in four MLS appearances, including first career goals vs. SJ (10/15) and diving header at CHV (10/22). Made first start in WCSF at RSL (10/29) and debut at VAN (9/24). Signed with Seattle late in the season after being selected in MLS Allocation process.

Personal:
Born in Mexico, Ochoa later moved to Riverside, Calif. and attended Riverside Poly High School. He is a U.S. citizen. Ochoa signed with Tecos in 2006. Jesus Ochoa, Sammy’s older brother, played for Schmid while with the Galaxy. He later played for Chivas USA.
