Career Summary

A tall, imposing striker who is dominant in the air, Ibrahim brought an impressive European background to New York in his first season with the club in 2010. Ibrahim provided the coaching staff with a reliable target option, and made the most of his time with some key, game-winning strikes early in the season. In 2011, Ibrahim will give the Red Bulls a solid scoring option whether in a starting role or off the bench.

2010:
Appeared in 19 games, scoring three goals, two of which were game winners. Made MLS debut in the Red Bulls 2-0 loss to Chivas USA on April 10 as a substitute in the 54th minute.  Earned his first start for the Red Bulls against FC Dallas on April 17.  Scored his first MLS goal on April 24 against Philadelphia Union. Scored game winning goal in 2-0 victory over D.C. United on May 1. Scored game winning goal at Kansas City on June 26. 2009-10: After only six months in the German second division, Salou was signed by Vejle Boldklub of the Danish Superliga.  He scored four goals in 20 matches.

2008-09: Signed by German club MSV Duisburg.

2006-08: An impressive debut with Zulte-Waregem saw Ibrahim gain interest from top Belgian clubs and he eventually signed with Club Brugge.  Ibrahim scored five goals in 46 league appearances and once again helped his team triumph to the Belgian Cup in 2007.

2005-06: Moved to First Division side S.V. Zulte-Waregem, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and helping his side capture the 2006 Belgian Cup.

2004-05: Signed by KV Kortrijk of the Belgian Second Division.

2000-04: After a short stint with German club TuS Wandsbek 81, FC Turnhout of Belgium signed Ibrahim for four seasons.  He scored 29 goals in 50 league matches with his best performance coming during the 2003-04 season when Ibrahim tallied 16 goals in only 26 contests.

Favorite food is “Red Red” Ghanaian plantain dish. Is married with two daughters, who live in Europe. Favorite music is Caribbean hip-hop. Favorite country to visit is Spain, particularly Mallorca. Favorite athlete is Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. Enjoys listening to music in his spare time and it helps him focus.
