Rio Mavuba is an experienced defensive midfielder who has made over 190 appearances with Lille and is the captain of the club.

FRENCH NATIONAL TEAM

Mavuba made his debut with Les Bleus all the way back in 2004 but has rarely appeared since. He made two appearances during this cycle of World Cup qualifying.

CLUB CAREER

Mavuba started his professional career with Bordeaux before arriving at Lille in 2008. He has been a crucial part of the team ever since.
