New York Red Bulls sign defender Raheem Edwards
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing The New York Red Bulls have signed defender Raheem Edwards via free agency, the club announced Thursday. He is under contract through 2026 with an option for 2027.
PRIOR TO NEW YORK
Before signing with New York, Edwards spent the 2024 MLS season with CF Montreal. He made 25 MLS appearances and tallied five assists. Edwards spent the 2022 and 2023 MLS seasons with the Los Angeles Galaxy. The defender made 60 MLS appearances, where he recorded three goals and 10 assists. He made stints at LAFC, Minnesota United FC, and Chicago FC as well. Edwards spent the beginning of his career with his boyhood club, Toronto FC. He made 27 career appearances for Toronto and tallied one goal and seven assists. He was a member of the 2016-17 Toronto FC team that won MLS Cup, Supporters Shield, and the Canadian Championship in the same season. He also won the Canadian Championship with Toronto in 2017.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Edwards has made five career appearances for the Canada Senior National Team. He made his debut for the national team on June 13, 2017, in a 2-1 victory over Curacao. His last call-up for Canada was in 2022, during Canada’s CONCACAF Nations League group matches.

The New York Red Bulls signed Raheem Edwards to a two-year MLS contract through 2026 with an option for 2027 on January 30, 2025.
