FC Cincinnati signed Paul Walters to a Homegrown Contract on January 20, 2023. Walters became the sixth academy product to sign a first team contract with the Orange and Blue and the third such player to sign prior to the start of the 2023 season.
2022 (FC Cincinnati 2): Appeared in one match for FC Cincinnati 2 of MLS NEXT Pro … made five saves against Orlando City B in 5-3 win.
COLLEGE (Northwestern): Appeared in four matches for the Wildcats in 2022 … held a 2-1-1 record and earned his first career win against Houston Baptist on Sept. 12 …made a career-high six saves against Northern Illinois University (Oct. 12).
ACADEMY (FC Cincinnati): Walters was part of the inaugural academy class of 2019 where he played for the U17 and U19 teams … committed to Northwestern in November of 2021 where he would go on to play for one season before returning to Cincinnati … became the sixth academy product to sign with the first team and the second goalkeeper (Beckham Sunderland) … became the fifth Homegrown player signing in club history … attended nearby Lakota West High School, the same high school as teammate Nick Hagglund.
