Nabil Bentaleb

Nabil Bentaleb may only be 20 years old, but he is a regular starter for England’s Tottenham Hotspur and has already earned his first cap with Algeria.

He is a strong left-footed central midfielder with speed and a knack to dribble his way out of tight spaces.

ALGERIAN NATIONAL TEAM

Formerly courted by the French national team, Bentaleb was instead called up by Algerian manager Vahid Halilhodzic in February 2014 and played all 90 minutes of a 2-0 friendly win against Slovenia, making an immediate impact on Algeria’s midfield.

CLUB CAREER

A native of Lille, Bentaleb was not considered good enough to become a professional soccer player and was let go by his hometown club. After stints in Belgium, he was given a trial with Birmingham City, but was instead spotted by Tottenham who signed the young player to its academy.
