Career Summary

Out of contract following 2018 season.

A veteran of all levels of Italian soccer, Mancosu made an immediate difference for the Impact after signing during the summer transfer window in 2016. He scored seven goals and added six assists across 20 games (12 starts) in the regular season and playoffs as Montreal made a run to the Eastern Conference Championship.

OUTSIDE MLS: Mancosu played the 2015-16 season in Serie A, scoring two goals in 21 games and 899 minutes. He began the season with Bologna before playing the second part of the season on loan with Carpi. Mancosu finished as the top goalscorer in Serie B in 2013-14, scoring 26 goals in his first season in the Italian second division with club Trapani Calcio, playing a total of 40 games and 3,407 minutes, including 35 starts. He recorded four multi-goal games and also scored twice in three Coppa Italia games. He had previously helped Trapani win promotion to Serie B following its 2012-13 season. In the 2014-15 season with Trapani, Mancosu scored 10 goals in 19 games and 1,546 minutes in Serie B, including 17 starts, before being acquired by Bologna in Jan. 2015. He helped the club from Emilia-Romagna win its Serie A promotion, appearing in 15 regular season games, including nine as a starter, and two playoff games. Originally from Cagliari, he was part of the youth system of hometown club Scuola Calcio Johannes. He also played for Italian clubs Atletico Calcio, Nuorese, Villacidrese, Latina and Vigor Lamezia over his career.
