New York Red Bulls' Lewis Morgan named 2024 MLS Comeback Player of the Year
After overcoming multiple injuries in 2023, New York Red Bulls midfielder Lewis Morgan has been named the 2024 MLS Comeback Player of the Year.

PRIOR TO NEW YORK
Morgan began his professional career at Saint Mirren FC in Scotland after he spent his youth career at Rangers Football Club. During the 2017/2018 season, he recorded 18 goals and 13 assists in all competitions. In two seasons with Saint Mirren, he totaled 118 appearances with 29 goals scored and 23 assists tallied. In July of 2018, he was sent on loan to Sunderland AFC, where he tallied two goals and four assists. Morgan played for Celtic FC in January of 2018, he made 31 appearances for the club, while registering two Champions League assists and two Europa League goals.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Morgan has received seven senior appearances for Scotland, he made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Peru in 2018. The Scottish winger made his second appearance a few days later against Mexico. Morgan was named to Scotland's 2024 UEFA Euro roster and received his first call up since 2019. He made his first appearance for Scotland since June 3, 2018, on June 7 in a friendly against Finland. He became the third New York Red Bulls player to be named to a UEFA Euro roster as a member of the club. He appeared in Scotland's final group stage match of the 2024 UEFA Euro, coming on as a substitute for 10 minutes against Hungary.

The New York Red Bulls have acquired attacking midfielder Lewis Morgan from Inter Miami CF in exchange for $1,200,000 in General Allocation Money over two years on December 12, 2021. Signed a new three-year MLS contract through 2025 with an option for 2026 on January 13, 2023.
