Edwards was drafted with the eighth selection (No. 86 overall) in Round 4 and the forward finished his collegiate career at the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley ranked second in career goals with 21 and career points with 49. The forward signed a contract with Rio Grande Valley FC, Houston’s hybrid affiliate in the USL Championship, on Jan. 7 and the Dynamo will retain his MLS rights. Edwards featured in 34 games for the Vaqueros from 2018-2019 and was named to the All-WAC First Team in back-to-back seasons. Following his breakout junior year with UTRGV, the forward was named WAC Preseason Player of the Year and named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List. Edwards joined Brazos Valley Cavalry FC last summer where he scored 15 goals and tallied three assists in 13 appearances. Edwards was co-winner of the 2019 USL League Two Golden Boot with 15 goals. The 22-year-old brings international experience to the club with 15 senior caps for the Saint Vincent and Grenadines National Team. Edwards made his debut in a 4-0 victory over Anguilla on Sept. 5, 2014 in the Caribbean Cup Qualification tournament.
