Kwadwo "Mahala" Opoku joined CF Montréal by way of a trade from LAFC on July 5, 2023.
He made his debut with the Attram De Visser Soccer Academy in his native Ghana, where he scored 29 goals in 64 games.
In the Fall of 2020, Opoku signed with LAFC and made his MLS debut on October 12 in a 3-1 win over the Seattle Sounders. With the Californian club, he participated in the winning of the Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup double in the 2022 season.
On July 5, 2023, the Ghanaian was traded to CF Montréal and played in his first match with the Bleu-blanc-noir in a penalty shoot-out victory over Pumas UNAM in the Leagues Cup.
On the international stage, Opoku represented Ghana at the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in 2017.
