Guilherme Biro

Austin FC reached agreement with Mirassol Futebol Clube for the transfer of defender Guilherme da Trindade Dubas (known as Guilherme Biro) on January 9, 2024. Biro joins Austin on a three-year guaranteed contract through the end of the 2026 season, with an additional option for 2027.

Biro, a native of Curitiba, Brazil, spent the 2023 season with Mirassol. Playing primarily as a left back, Biro recorded 45 clearances, 42 interceptions, and 21 tackles won in 29 league appearances, helping Mirassol concede the second-fewest goals in Série B. He contributed two (2) goals, three (3) assists, and 25 chances created at the attacking end of the field.

Biro also made 12 appearances for Mirassol in the Campeonato Paulista Série A1, the top professional state football league in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, and two (2) in the Troféu Independência.

Biro previously played for Coritiba Foot Ball Club from 2020 to 2022, where he made 72 appearances across all competitions, including 23 in Série A, the Brazilian national topflight. In 2021 Biro played in 33 of Coritiba’s 38 Série B matches, recording a goal and an assist as the team finished third and earned promotion.
