Giorgos Karagounis

Giorgos Karagounis is the captain of the Greek national team and has registered over 130 caps for his national team. The veteran central midfielder has appeared for European powers Inter Milan and Benfica at the club level.

GREEK NATIONAL TEAM

Karagounis started all three games for Greece at the 2010 World Cup. He started four games for Greece at the 2004 Euros, a tournament the Greeks ended up winning.

CLUB CAREER

Karagounis spent a total of 10 years playing for Panathinaikos with stints with Inter Milan and Benfica breaking up his two five year stretches with the Greek club. He captured the Greek Super League title with Panathinaikos in 2009-10.
