Fernando Álvarez

Fernando Álvarez joined CF Montréal in July 2023 from Mexican club CF Pachuca.

The Colombian defender scored his first goal in a Montreal uniform at Inter Miami CF in a 3-2 victory on March 10, 2024. In his first full season with CF Montréal, the central defender played 27 games and logged 2,139 minutes in MLS.

Born in New York City to a Mexican father and Colombian mother, Álvarez represents Colombia on the international stage. He helped his country reach the quarter-finals of the 2023 U20 World Cup and took part in the pre-Olympic tournament with Colombia's U23s in 2024.
