Ponce arrived at Houston in June 2024 on a full transfer from AEK Athens in Greece, marking the largest transfer fee in Club history for the Dynamo. The Rosario, Argentina forward featured in 15 matches across Leagues Cup, regular season and postseason play last season. He made his presence known, scoring five goals in just 10 regular season matches and helping the Dynamo qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs in consecutive years for the first time since 2013, while the team set club records for points (54) and road wins (8).
Before joining the Dynamo, Ponce recorded 65 goals and nine assists in all competitions across six top-flight leagues in South America and Europe. He has appeared in 247 matches (137 starts) in Argentina (Newell’s Old Boys), Italy (Roma), Spain (Granada and Elche), France (Lille), Greece (AEK Athens) and Russia (Spartak Moscow).
