Daniel Van Buyten is a physical veteran centerback who has played with Bayern Munich since 2006. He has registered over 75 caps with the Belgian national team since 2001.

BELGIAN NATIONAL TEAM

Van Buyten started all four games for Belgium at the 2002 World Cup and has appeared in 19 World Cup qualifiers since then.

CLUB CAREER

Before joining Bayern, Van Buyten played for Charleroi, Standard Liege, Marseille, Manchester City, and Hamburger. He has been used mostly as a squad player for Bayern in recent years, making just 38 appearances over the last three Bundesliga seasons.
