A longtime MLS veteran, Wingert returned to RSL ahead of the 2016 season after spending 2015 with New York City FC. A strong defender and solid crosser, Wingert has spent most of his career as a left back, but is also capable of slotting in at center back.
INTERNATIONAL: Wingert has one career appearance with the US senior national team, playing in a friendly against Sweden in January 2009.
COLLEGE: Wingert spent four years at St. John’s University, capping his highly successful Red Storm career by the winning the 2003 MAC Hermann Trophy, given the top player in college soccer. He led St. John to appearances at the NCAA College Cup in 2001 and 2003, when the school finished runner-up to Indiana.
