Career Summary

Signed March 1 by Toronto FC after being with the squad during preseason. Bennett was originally selected in the first round of the 2013 MLS Supplemental Draft from Coastal Carolina. He was born in Clarendon, Jamaica but holds Canadian residency. In two seasons with the Chanticleers, Bennett made 47 appearances scoring 39 goals to go with 16 assists. He was named a NSCAA First Team All-American both seasons.

College: Spent first two seasons at Cincinnati State Technical College, where he tallied 11 goals and three assists in his freshman season before following that up with a 24 goals/19 assist 2010 season, in which he led the school to a runner-up finish National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I championship ... Transferred to Coastal Carolina for the 2011 season ... Played in all of Coastal Carolina's 22 games in 2011, starting 18 of them and registering 23 goals and seven assists. Named NSCAA First Team All-American, College Soccer News Second Team All-American, First Team All-Big South and Big South Attacking Player of the Year. Named a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist ... Played 25 games for Coastal Carolina in 2012, starting 22. Scored 16 goals and nine assists and helped lead the Chanticleers to the Round of 16 in the NCAA tournament. Repeated as Big South Attacking Player of th Year and a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist. Also earned repeat NSCAA First Team All-American and First Team All-Big South honors, as well as Second Team in TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Season. Ranked #13 among all upperclassman by TopDrawerSoccer.com in its Dec. 17, 2012 ranking.

Prep: Attended Garvey Maceo High School in Jamaica, where he was the leading scorer on the team and set the all-time school scoring record. Led the school to a U-16 championship in 2004.

Club: Played youth soccer for Portmore United in Portmore, Jamaica. Named league MVP in 2007 and 2008 while winning back-to-back Golden Boots and helping the club to three trophy wins.

Personal: In addition to being a Jamaican citizen, Bennett also holds Canadian residency.
