Ante Razov is Chivas USA's all-time leading scorer, scoring 30 goals for the club since arriving prior to the 2006 season. An MLS Original, Razov has played in each of the league's 13 seasons, and, at the start of the 2009 campaign, is second on MLS' all-time scoring chart with 114 regular-season goals, second only to Jaime Moreno, who has 122. An MLS Cup winner (1998) and three-time Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup champion, Razov has also made 25 appearances with the U.S. National Team, scoring six goals. Born March 2, 1974 in Los Angeles, Razov speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Croatian.
2008: Playing 22 games (17 as a starter), Razov finished the season tied for the team lead in goals (5) and added six assists. He also went on a streak in June and July where the striker scored in six consecutive matches for the team in MLS and SuperLiga competition, scoring all three of the Red-and-White's goals in its first international tournament.
2007: With 11 goals and 8 assists in 26 games, Razov fell just short of tying Maykel Galindo (12 goals) for the team scoring lead as he helped the team to a first-place finish in the Western Conference.
2006: Led Chivas USA with 14 regular-season goals and 8 assists, plus 1 postseason goal. Earned team's Budweiser Golden Boot and team MVP awards. Also named Legión 1908's 2006 MVP.
2005: Split time between the Columbus Crew (one goal in seven games) and the New York Red Bulls (six goals in 18 games).
2004: Scored four goals in reduced time with the Chicago Fire, playing 13 games with the club.
2003: Was Chicago Fire's Budweiser Scoring Champion for the fifth time, scoring 14 goals (four game-winners) and adding six assists in 26 games. Earned his second MLS All-Star appearance, and scored the first goal for the All-Stars in a 3-1 win over Chivas Guadalajara on August 2. Helped the Fire to a third U.S. Open Cup, was named to the MLS Best XI, and was a runner-up in MVP voting to his future coach, Preki.
2002: Appeared in 25 matches, 24 starts, and once again led the Fire in scoring with 14 goals (three game winning) and eight assists (four game winning) for 36 points.
2001: Played one season for Racing de Ferrol of the Spanish Second Division in 2000-01, scoring six goals in 19 games and helping the team survive relegation. Razov was then re-acquired by Chicago as a marquee replacement for the injured Josh Wolff on 8/3
2000: Captured the Fire's Budweiser Scoring title for the third consecutive year, and was named to the MLS All-Star Game for the first time in his career. Recorded the first hat trick in Fire history on 5/6 at Miami, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win, and also helped the Fire to its second U.S. Open Cup championship.
1999: Finished the year as the Fire's Budweiser Scoring Champion for the second consecutive year after scoring 14 goals, alongside seven assists.
1998: Was the Fire's Budweiser Scoring Champion in his breakout season, tallying 10 goals and 9 assists. Helped the first to a double in the club's inaugural season, as Chicago won both the MLS Cup and the U.S. Open Cup.
1997: Appeared in three regular season games with L.A. but did not register a point.
1996: Played three matches in his first season with Los Angeles, scoring his first career goal on June 9 against the MetroStars in a 4-0 Galaxy victory. Was a part of the Galaxy's run to MLS Cup, making five appearances and notching an assist.
Spent the 2000-2001 season with Racing de Ferrol of the Spanish Second Division, where he appeared in 19 games and scored six goals, helping the club avoid relegation.
Razov has made at total of 25 appearances (six goals) with the United States National Team, debuting in a 2-2 draw with Uruguay in Dallas on March 25, 1995, and making his most recent appearance in a 4-1 win over Sweden in Carson, Calif., on June 2, 2007. Razov was the last American player to make his debut with the U.S. National Team while still in college.
Razov played four years at UCLA from 1992-95, and finished his collegiate career with 40 goals and 29 assists. He was UCLA's leading scorer in 1993 and 1994 and ranked second on the team in scoring in 1995, and was the Bruins' leading scorer in the 1994 NCAA Tournament.
Mother is Angela and his father, Mile, is from Croatia… Favorite music includes Ray LaMontagne… Is a fan of the Lakers and enjoys watching Barcelona play… Is an avid outdoorsman… Favorite memory from his soccer career was winning the double with Chicago in 1998, and playing for the U.S. in Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
