Iraola joined NYCFC halfway through their inaugural season and couldn't do a lot to stop the team from conceding a league leading 58 goals. He will be hoping that a full preseason in the Bronx can help him show the pedigree that includes a long career in Europe, and appearances with the Spanish National Team at the height of their powers.
OUTSIDE MLS: Iraola made 510 appearances (406 league) with 38 goals for Bilbao over 12 seasons. The Basque right back was a constant in the team, appearing in 30 or more league matches in 11 seasons with a career-high 38 in 2005-06. Iraola made his first-team debut for Bilbao as a 21-year-old against Barcelona in 2003 and went on to have a fantastic La Liga career.
​INTERNATIONAL: Earned seven caps for Spain from 2008-11.
